In recent years, bio-inspired hybrid structures composed of lightweight aluminum and high-strength composite materials have become a focal point in the design of energy-absorbing systems across industries such as automotive, aerospace, and defense. These structures, due to their optimized weight-to-strength ratio, offer enhanced crashworthiness and energy absorption capabilities. This study explores the mechanical behavior of such hybrid structures under three-point bending loads, taking inspiration from natural geometries to achieve better performance. The investigation focuses on the effects of laminate angles and the number of composite layers on critical parameters such as bending strength, deformation patterns, and energy absorption efficiency. The results reveal that specific configurations of laminate angles and layer counts significantly enhance structural performance, providing an optimal balance between weight reduction and mechanical strength. These findings contribute to the development of advanced energy-absorbing designs, offering practical guidelines for improving safety and efficiency in industrial applications, particularly in automotive crash structures and aerospace components. |
