Evaluating the Dynamic Thermal Properties of Cement Mortar with Different Mix Proportion through Numerical Computation

چکیده مقاله:
Cement mortar is a composite of cement, sand, and fine aggregate. It can be used as masonry or plastering in building sector. The dynamic thermal properties of cement mortar usually are not considered in the design of buildings despite their important role in the heat transfer. The current study investigated the dynamic thermal properties of cement mortar with different mix proportions. Periodic thermal transmittance (Ymn), decrement factor (f), and time lag (φ) of cement mortar with cement to the sand ratio of 1:2 to 1:8 (M1:2 to M1:8) assessed numerically. The results investigated that the thickness and volumetric heat capacity of cement mortar are very effective in its dynamic thermal properties. The periodic thermal transmittance of M1:8 is around 0.17% and 3.0% lower than M1:3 in the layers with 1mm and 20 mm thickness, respectively. However, the results showed that the M1:8 has the highest decrement factor and lowest time lag in comparison with other samples.
